F281 vs. PC78H: Choosing Hoodies for Custom Embroidery
The Sport-Tek F281 Super Heavyweight hoodie and Port & Co PC78H Core Fleece hoodie offer two different starting points for embroidered team layers. Both are pullovers, but their fleece weight, cotton blend and measurements differ. Use those details to decide which construction suits your group, then check the logo placement on the selected style.

Choose a fleece weight for the way it will be worn
Start with the F281 if you are looking for the heavier of these two fabrics. Its supplier specifies cross-grain fleece with a cotton face. The PC78H provides a lighter-weight alternative within this pair. Fabric weight is a comparison point rather than a temperature rating; consider the shirt underneath, the work setting and the wearer’s preference.
Compare measurements before collecting sizes
A Large does not measure the same in these styles: the supplier lists a 25-inch flat chest for F281 and 24 inches for PC78H. Those are garment measurements across the chest, not body circumferences. Compare the chart with a suitable garment you already own, following the supplier’s measurement directions. Check body length and sleeves as well as chest width, allowing for the intended underlayer.
Look at construction around your planned logo
The F281 lists rib knit cuffs, hem and side gussets with spandex, plus a front pouch pocket. Check the photos and available embroidery locations on each product before choosing a placement. A hood can cover part of the upper back when it rests down; explain how you want the logo to appear when the garment is worn. Staff reviews the accessible area and artwork detail.
Plan colors, care and embroidery together
Confirm the color and sizes available for each style instead of relying on a matching color name across brands. Follow the selected garment’s care instructions and keep its style number for reorders. Request one embroidery dimension or ask for sizing help; the general apparel maximum is 4.5 inches wide by 4.5 inches high, with smaller limits where needed. Mixed SanMar styles, colors, and sizes with the same primary logo qualify together for quantity discounts, including scaled versions for hats and shirts. Different primary logos form separate groups. Small order handling is assessed separately by style.
Displayed prices include embroidery in one location. Quantity discounts start at 12 items. Supplier discount restrictions and small order handling fees may apply.
